NYCC 2013 Exclusive Star Wars R2-Q5 from Kotobukiya

Everyone loves droids! Especially R2-Q5 (nicknamed by some the Black R2-D2). Kotobukiya will release an exclusive ARTFX+ statue/figure with gold plated coin of this iconic Star Wars character at New York Comic Con 2013.He is about 4 inches tall (1/10 scale) and will only be available at NYCC 2013

12" Yak Face (Vintage-Style) @ SDCC 2013

This is the one we've been waiting for! Gentle Giant has just announced their 12" Jumbo Kenner Vintage-Style figure for San Diego Comic-Con 2013... Yak Face with Power of the Force coin. This is a must have for collectors and fans. I know I'm getting one for myself! His weapon looks amazing, the packaging looks amazing, the coin looks amazing. I want it now!

McQuarrie Concept C-3PO bust (Gentle Giant)

Ralph McQuarrie’s early designs of C-3PO are uniquely different from that of the final screen version. Based on original pre-production illustrations for Star Wars: A New Hope, this mini bust displays a fascinating look at McQuarrie’s conceptual development of the beloved protocol droid.

ACME Archives and SDCC 2013 Exclusives

ACME Archives is returning to their decade-long art collectible (the Character Key) to be released at San Diego Comic-Con 2013. It has become a long tradition that ACME releases a Star Wars Character Key each year and this year collectors will be excited to finally and an animated Boushh (Leia!) to their art collections.

Star Wars Angry Birds - SDCC 2013 Exclusive

Hasbro has released details on a pretty cool exclusive for San Diego Comic Con 2013... The original 12 STAR WARS action figures are re-imagined for San Diego Comic-Con with a twist based on the mega-hit mobile game ANGRY BIRDS STAR WARS from Rovio Entertainment! LUKE SKYWALKER, PRINCESS LEIA, HAN SOLO, OBI-WAN KENOBI, CHEWBACCA, R2-D2, C-3PO, DARTH VADER, STORMTROOPER, SAND PEOPLE, IMPERIAL NAVY COMMANDER and a JAWA are all re-imagined as heroic birds or evil pigs in this set, with each figure in a unique vintage-style blister card featuring ANGRY BIRDS homage to the classic Kenner artwork! The individual blister cards are all packaged together in a collectible package!

Star Wars Black Series - Boba Fett and Han Carbonite

This is pretty impressive! Hasbro has announced a 6" Star Wars collector's series entitled "Black Series" and to catapult the line to epic proportions there will be a San Diego Comic Con exclusive Boba Fett! The 6-inch  Fett will include two signature weapons, a jet pack, and Han Solo frozon in Carbonite! The packaging looks amazing and I think it's just what the Star Wars collectors have been waiting for... the Force is strong with this one!

Star Wars Celebration Coverage

I think most (if not all) who attended Star Wars Celebration VI would now consider it a successful, fun, entertaining, well organized event.

(pics above) The dioramas/reproduction sets were simply amazing! Scattered all over the show room floor were life-size replicas of epic scenes from the Star Wars saga. Fans were allowed to stand in the sets for pictures. Thank you to the Belgian set builders who to me they shipped 2 full international shipping containers of "stuff" over a month ago by cargo boat just so fans could truly experience Star Wars! Stunning!

(pics above) The mail show room floor was well thought out, and organized. I heard rumors of 30,000+ people attended... maybe official numbers will be released soon!

(pics) above left) Disco R2-D2 was on display in the Rancho Obi-Wan exhibit, along with 300 other amazing collectibles from Steve Sansweet's collection! (pic above right) Fans parading through the convention center in epic formation: Vader, Emperor and Royal Guards!

Star Wars Celebration VI Badge Set (with pictures!)

Here is the first look at the badge set from Star Wars Celebration VI. A few of these are a little goofy looking (Leia especially!) But all-in-all, these are a fun way to celebrate the convention. It is a "celebration" after-all. There are two badges not pictures: Jedi Master and Jedi Knight. These two were only available to those who purchased the Master of Knight ticket package.

Star Wars Exclusive Jocasta Nu Figure

Jocasta Nu, Chief Librarian of the Jedi Library (Brian's Toys Exclusive) is now available for pre-order. This is an amazing figure that collectors have been excited about for while. It was previously intended to be a Star Wars Celebration VI exclusive, but because Hasbro isn't offering any exclusives at the convention next month (I'm very disappointed about that!!) it was switched to a Brian's Toys Exclusive. The figure includes:
- Lightsaber handle (unlit)
- Lightsaber (lit)
- bag with string closure
- Master Dooku "Lost Twenty" Bust
- Collectible boxed packaging
- Jocasta Nu proof card (an extra card-back!)

Star Wars Celebration Exclusive: R2-Q5

Diamond Select Toys has announced a new Star Wars Celebration VI exclusive: the popular black droid R2-Q5 bust bank (1/4th scale). This will be extremely limited to only 100 pieces at the convention! They have also held back a small amount of the red droid R2-R9 (first seen at San Diego Comic Con) to be sold at Celebration VI.

Star Wars Celebration VI Exclusive - Greedo Character Key

Star Wars Celebration VI is less than a month away! Here is a peak at the ACME Greedo Character Key that will be exclusive to the convention. It is limited to only 500 and a great cartoon depiction of the vile green alien!

Star Wars Celebration VI Exclusive Droid by Kotobukiya

Kotobukiya has announced their Star Wars Celebration VI exclusive and it's a dandy! An ArtFx+ statue of the green astromech droid R2-A6. It is limited to only 500 pieces and includes a Celebration VI collector's coin and additional pieces so the droid can be displayed with two legs or three legs!

SDCC 2012 Exclusive Admiral Motti Bust

Gentle Giant's San Diego Comic Con exclusive lineup begin with Admiral Motti (choking) bust. This piece is a limited edition of 1,200 pieces. Each collectible includes a numbered certificate of authenticity autographed by Richard Leparmentier, the actor who played the Imperial officer who is choked by Darth Vader in Star Wars.
